You will find TERP Questers playing games, climbing on the rock wall, or heading to the pool to cool off. Please be sure your camper is dressed appropriately to take on the day!
  • Water Bottle - reuseable only. Each camper should have a refillable water bottle with them each day. At TERP Quest Summer Day Camp, we want all campers to stay hydrated during their busy day. Campers will have the opportunity to refill bottles throughout the day. In order to support the University-wide initiative of sustainability, we ask that you not send disposable bottles. In an emergency, and your camper has forgotten a bottle of water, a disposable one will be provided at the cost of $3.00 per bottle consumed. You will be notified of the charge via e-mail and/or at pick-up and the fee must be paid before your child may return to camp.
  • Comfortable clothing which is appropriate for the weather and high activity.
  • Closed heel and toe shoes with socks (no CROCS or HEELYS, sorry!)
  • Backpack. Please be sure that is only large enough to hold all items (swim suit, towel, (2) non-perishable snacks, refillable water bottle), and is easy for your child to carry.
  • Swim suit - daily
  • Towel - daily
  • Sunscreen labeled with their name along with an authorization form if not turned in previously. If your child attends multiple weeks of TERP Quest, please supply one bottle of spray sunscreen per week of attendance.
  • TERP Quest, if authorized to do so, will utilize our emergency sunscreen supply in the event a camper fails to provide personal sunscreen. This will immediately result in an additional charge to camp fees, and is to be paid within 24 hours.
  • Two healthy, non-perishable snacks to be stored in their back pack. We do not allow participants to purchase snacks or drinks from vending machines or at any shop on campus, so please make sure they have what they need when they leave home.
  • Insulated lunch container with a healthy lunch: just like at school, please send a lunch in an insulated lunch box with your camper each day. Lunches will be stored in a secure location, but they will NOT be refrigerated. If lunch is forgotten, a TERP Quest Staff member will contact the parent to bring a child’s lunch to camp.
  • Any Electronic Device.
  • Trading cards of any kind.
  • Toys from home.
  • Money.
NOTE: Unauthorized personal items will be collected by the Director for parent pick-up. TERP Quest Summer Day Camp is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
If your camper is unable to attend camp for any reason, please call (301) 226-4500 between 8:30 and 9:30 am to send a message to the TERP Quest staff. An e-mail can also be sent to the Director for TERP Quest Summer Day Camp at mmires@umd.edu.

Should you forget to call, we will make note of their absence and attempt to contact you throughout the day to verify this.

Refunds are not given for missed days.
T-Shirts are typically distributed on Tuesday afternoons. If your child does not receive a t-shirt, please let us know right away! We ask that your camper wear their shirt for pictures on Wednesday morning. If your child needs an extended size which was not available as a selection when registering, please contact Mary Mires @ mmires@umd.edu immediately upon completing your child's TERP Quest Summer Day Camp registration so special arrangements can be made.

Campers registered for more than one week will only receive one shirt.
